You are entitled to know how a site that gives you money and health information pays its bills. Ours is straightforward.

Advertising

We earn revenue from display advertising served by third-party advertising networks. Those ads are selected by the advertising network, not chosen by us, and their appearance next to an article is not an endorsement of the advertiser by us, or of us by the advertiser.

The wall between ads and editorial

Advertisers have no say in what we publish. They do not see articles before publication, cannot commission coverage, cannot request that an article be changed or removed, and cannot buy a favourable mention. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be labelled clearly as such at the top of the page, before you read it. We do not currently publish any.

Affiliate links

We do not currently use affiliate links. If that changes, we will say so here and disclose it on every article that contains one, because a payment that depends on you clicking a specific product is exactly the kind of thing a reader should be told about.

How this affects what we recommend

It does not. Where we conclude that a product is bad value, we say so, including for products that advertise. Where the right answer is to buy nothing, that is what we write. A site that only ever recommends purchases is not worth reading.

Questions

If something on the site looks like paid placement to you, tell us through the contact form and we will explain it or fix it.
